Preliminary Examination Finds Technical Fault Cause of Airbus Plane Crash
CAIRO (Sputnik) Egypt will conduct a thorough investigation into the Russian passenger airliner crash in the Sinai Peninsula, Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a statement Saturday.

"Foreign Minister [Sameh Shoukry] held talks with his Russian counterpart [Sergei Lavrov], in which he expressed his deepest condolences for the Russian airplane crash and stressed Egypt’s commitment to establish all the circumstances of the tragedy in full cooperation and coordination with Russia," Zeid said.

Flight 9268, en route to St. Petersburg from the resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, disappeared from radars 23 minutes after takeoff. The Russian Transport Ministry said that there were 217 passengers and seven crew members on board. The Russian embassy in Egypt confirmed all people on board the Kogalymavia Airbus-A321 were killed.
