MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian-Chinese "Joint Sea-2016" naval exercise will be hosted by China in the Far East, the Russian Navy chief of combat training said Saturday.
"Next year, the decision was already made by the Defense Ministry, we will continue to participate in these Joint Sea drills. This time China will be the host and at its invitation the Pacific Fleet will go to China," Rear Adm. Viktor Kochemazov told the Ekho Moskvy radio station.
The latest Russian-Chinese "Joint Sea-2015 II" naval exercises took place in Russia’s Far Eastern Primorsky Territory in August. The active phase of the drills, which was the second naval exercise between China and Russia this year, involved 500 marines, 22 warships and support vessels, 15 air vessels, 40 units of equipment and 2 drones.
