Collective European Security Impossible With West's 'Victor Mentality'
BERLIN (Sputnik) — Western countries, including Germany, have not responded to Russian proposals on the creation of a security system in Europe, Russian Ambassador to Germany Vladimir Grinin said Friday.

"We need concrete projects [concerning security in Europe], but except for Russia, still advocating the creation of an equal and indivisible security system…all other states say nothing," Grinin said.

He added that Russia had also proposed to shape an economic and humanitarian space from Lisbon in the western part of Europe to the Russian eastern city of Vladivostok, an idea dating back to the Soviet Union.

In 2008, then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev called on European states to create new security architecture to replace existing security institutions, including NATO, to significantly reshape ties between the states. It implied the creation of advisory groups that would discuss security threats.
