The survey by the Washington-based Pew Research Center revealed that 75 and 70 percent of respondents living in Vietnam see Russia and the Russian president favorably.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Citizens of Vietnam, Ghana and China have the most favorable opinion about Russia and its President Vladimir Putin among those questioned in 40 states across the globe, according to a survey published Wednesday.

The survey by the Washington-based Pew Research Center revealed that 75 and 70 percent of respondents living in Vietnam see Russia and the Russian president favorably.

American adults are more likely to believe information about climate change if it comes from Fox News than if it comes from President Barack Obama, according to a new poll from St. Leo University. - Sputnik International

Another country with a particularly high support for Russia is West Africa's Ghana: some 56 percent of those polled in the country have a positive opinion of Russia while 49 percent of respondents have confidence personally in Putin.

In China, 51 and 54 percent of respondents support Russia and its president correspondingly.

A median of some 30 percent of people have a favorable opinion about Russia around the world, hitting a low in Poland and Jordan, where 80 percent of the population are critical of Moscow.

The survey was carried out from March 25 to May 27 among some 45,000 respondents.
