A suicide attack reported earlier as a power transformer explosion during Friday night's Pakistan-Zimbabwe cricket match killed one and injured six others in Pakistan's second-largest city, local media reported Saturday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The blast occurred outside Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, near the northeast Indian border, after law enforcement officials prevented the attacker entrance to the stadium, according to Pakistan's Geo TV.

The independent network added that a media blackout negotiated by the Pakistan Broadcasters Association and Pakistan's Ministry of Information took effect "in order to responsibly avoid any untoward incident such as a stampede during the match."

The cricket match attended by over 25,000 people appeared to continue uninterrupted.
