Canadian Mounted Police said in a statement that Canadian police have located the suspect who shot two police officers in Alberta province earlier in the day.

MOSCOW, January 17 (Sputnik) — Canadian police have located the suspect who shot two police officers in Alberta province earlier in the day, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said in a statement on Saturday.

"The suspect who shot two RCMP officers earlier this morning in a St. Albert casino has been located," the statement published on RCMP's official website read.

Hospitalized Canadian Police Officer in 'Grave' Condition, Shooter at Large
The name of the suspect has not yet been disclosed by the police.

On Saturday morning, a gunman shot and wounded two police officers in a casino of St. Albert, a northern suburb of Edmonton, the capital of Alberta province.

RCMP stated earlier that one officer is in "very grave" condition, while the other officer's condition is serious but stable.

A manhunt for an approximately 30-year-old "armed and dangerous" white male is currently underway and local residents were asked to stay away from the area where the investigation is ongoing.
