MOSCOW, October 31 (RIA Novosti) — An Ebola suspect taken to Helsinki’s Meilahti Hospital Thursday evening is reported to be in stable condition, according to Yle News.
The patient has been tested for Ebola, as well as various tropical infections such as malaria, Finland’s national public-broadcasting company informs. As previously reported, the patient who arrived in Finland from Ebola-affected Liberia has been hospitalized with fever and headache, symptoms similar to those produced by Ebola virus.
According to the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), persons with whom the patient has had contact with were located and registered. The possibility of their contamination is reported to be very low as contamination is possible only by direct contact with infectious blood, or bodily fluids and the onset of certain symptoms.
The test results are said to be released on Friday evening. The final diagnosis will be indicated within three days.
