KIEV, October 26 (RIA Novosti) - Early elections to the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) are held only in 17 out of 32 districts of the country's Donetsk and Luhansk Regions, Ukraine's Deputy Interior Minister Serhiy Yarovoi stated Sunday.
"In connection with the situation formed in the Donetsk region, out of 21 electoral districts, elections are held only in 12 districts. In the Luhansk region out of 11 districts elections are held only in five," Yarovoi said at a briefing.
Early parliamentary elections are being held in Ukraine Sunday, October 26. Ukrainians are going to the polls to vote in 424 members to the Ukrainian Parliament, known as the Verkhovna Rada.
225 of the candidates are from party lists and 199 in single-candidate constituencies, according to the Central Election Commission. The electoral threshold is 5 percent.
