WASHINGTON, October 21 (RIA Novosti) - The United States believes that a nuclear agreement between Iran and the P5+1 group is possible before the November 24 deadline, deputy spokesperson for the US Department of State Marie Harf said.

According to Harf's Monday statement, the United States continues to believe that the parties have "enough time before November 24 to reach a comprehensive agreement" on Tehran's nuclear program.

The West has long been concerned with Iran's nuclear activities, accusing Tehran of developing nuclear weapons under the guise of a civilian nuclear program, claims that have been repeatedly denied by Iranian authorities.

At a meeting in November 2013 in Geneva, Iran and the P5+1 group, comprising Russia, China, France, the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany, agreed to reach a long-term nuclear agreement on Iran by July 2014 but the deadline was later postponed to November 24, 2014.

As the deadline draws closer and an agreement is yet to be reached, there has been much speculation in the media on whether the deadline could be postponed, however, no officials have confirmed these reports.
