SOCHI, October 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russia and China have agreed to create two new working groups within the frameworks of the intergovernmental commission of the two countries - on cooperation in the field of dual-use goods and in satellites and navigation systems, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said Saturday in Sochi.
"An agreement has been now reached on the establishment of two new structures in the framework of our intergovernmental commission, it is the working group on cooperation in the field of dual-use items, and a special committee on cooperation in satellite and navigation systems," Rogozin said at the Russian-Chinese Economic Forum.
He noted that as of today two countries - the United States and Russia - have deployed full orbital satellite constellations. China is actively developing its own system. "Because of the geographical and technical peculiarities, these two systems [Russian and Chinese] go very well together," the deputy prime minister said.
The Russian-Chinese Economic Forum is held within the frameworks of the 18th meeting of the Russian-Chinese Commission’s meeting for the preparation of regular meetings of the heads of state from Russia and China, held in Sochi on Saturday.
