MOSCOW, October 3 (RIA Novosti) - The First Meeting of Japan-EU Cyber Dialogue will take place in Tokyo on October 6, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on the official website Friday.

The meeting will be arranged with the goal of sharing experiences, exchanging views and discussing possible cooperation on certain issues, such as a general overview of measures, governmental structure and strategy, norms, rules and principles concerning cyberspace, anti-cybercrime measures and steps to build capacity.

The meeting will be co-chaired by Akira Kono, Japanese Ambassador in charge of Cyber Policy, and Joelle Jenny, Director for Security Policy and Conflict Prevention at the European External Action Service.

Officials from the Japanese National Information Security Center, National Security Secretariat, Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office, Defense Ministry, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and National Police Agency will all attend the meeting.

Participants from the European Union (EU) are also expected to be present.

The idea of holding Japan-EU Cyber Dialogue was approved at the 22nd Japan-EU Summit in May, after a discussion of cyber issues by Japan and EU member states.
