MOSCOW, September 29 (RIA Novosti) - WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange appeared as a hologram at the Nantucket Project on Sunday, New York Magazine reports.
A holographic image of Assange was created with use of recent advancements in technology. Though the WikiLeaks founder is living in the Ecuador Embassy in London, he was sort-of present for an interview at the Nantucket project, a Massachusetts conference similar to TED talks.
Assange took the opportunity to discuss his new book 'When Google Met WikiLeaks' and continue his public debate with Google CEO Eric Schmidt.
The book presents the story of Assange and Schmidt’s encounter which took place in June 2011. It contains a transcript of their conversation as well as new material about Assange’s vision for the future of the Internet.
Assange noted that the cover of Schmidt’s new book 'How Google Works' is "remarkably similar" to his book’s cover. He also stated that despite Google wanting to be considered as "not even a company at all, but something that gives free services," in fact is doing "basically what the National Security Agency is doing", because it collects and indexes scores of personal information.
Assange ended the interview by giving the moderator a hologram high-five.
