Islamic State Threatens to ‘Drown US in Blood’

The Islamic State (IS) jihadist group has threatened the United States that it will attack “in any place” if US air strikes hit any of its militants, Reuters reported Tuesday.

MOSCOW, August 19 (RIA Novosti) - The Islamic State (IS), a jihadist group, has threatened the United States that it will attack “in any place” if US air strikes hit any of its militants, Reuters reported Tuesday.

”We will drown all of you in blood,” the terrorist group wrote in a message posted online Monday.

IS voiced the threat in a video showing a photograph of an American who was beheaded during the US occupation of Iraq. The Daily Caller reported that the message was issued on the same day US President Barack Obama spoke at a press conference at the White House about the US military’s success in aiding Kurdish forces to take back a dam recently captured by IS.

“I say to America that the Islamic Caliphate has been established,” Abu Mosa, an IS spokesman, told VICE Media in an interview from the ISIS-controlled Syrian city of Raqqa, the capital of the terrorist group’s newly-declared Islamic caliphate.

”We will humiliate them everywhere, God willing, and we will raise the flag of Allah in the White House,” Mosa added.

This threat is not the first and surely won’t be the last if the United States continues helping Kurdish forces in northern Iraq, according to VICE Media’s Medyan Dairieh, who spent three weeks in Raqqa interviewing IS members. They all warned the United States that it was a target of the terrorist group.

“Every day that goes by, ISIS … becomes a direct threat to the United States of America,” Republican New York Representative Peter King, who served as chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” earlier this month. “They are more powerful now than al-Qaeda was on 9/11.”

Obama authorized US military strikes on IS earlier this month in an effort to prevent the group from advancing on the Kurdish city of Erbil. IS has threatened to march on Baghdad and has seized land in Iraq and Syria with the goal of expanding its self-proclaimed caliphate, Reuters reported.
