MOSCOW, August 18 (RIA Novosti) – South Korea and the United States have begun the Ulchi Freedom Guardian (UFG) drill, a joint military exercise, aimed at testing readiness to combat any North Korean invasion, Yonhap News Agency reported in the early hours of Monday.
Some 50,000 South Korean soldiers and 30,000 American military will take part in the 12-day drill, according to the agency.
North Korea has slammed the drill as a rehearsal for invasion.
