Russia’s President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to the leader of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping over the casualties in the Tibet bus crash, a message published on the Kremlin website said on Sunday.

MOSCOW, August 10 (RIA Novosti) - Russia’s President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to the leader of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping over the casualties in the Tibet bus crash, a message published on the Kremlin website  said on Sunday.

"Accept my deep condolences over the human deaths, caused by the automobile crash in the Tibet Autonomous Region. I ask that my words of sincere sympathy and support be passed to the families of the killed, and the wishes of a speedy recovery to all the injured," Putin said in a telegram.

At least 44 people died and 11 were injured as a result of a tourist bus crash in China’s Tibet. The accident took place at 4:25 pm local time (8:25 GMT) in Nyemo County.

The bus with tourists crashed into another vehicle on the No. 318 National Highway and then fell into a valley. The causes and other circumstances of the accident remain under verification.
