KIEV, July 26 (RIA Novosti) - The last plane with the Flight MH17 victims’ remains has taken off from the Kharkiv airport and headed for the Netherlands, a representative of the city authorities told RIA Novosti Saturday.
"At 13:47 local time (10:47 GMT), a plane with the last 19 containers that carry human remains set off for the Netherlands," the agency’s interlocutor said.
The first aircraft with the passengers’ remains flew to the Netherlands earlier in the day.
Previously, it was reported that the bodies of victims of the Boeing 777 crash in eastern Ukraine had been delivered to Kharkiv. Of 227 specially prepared containers with bodies, 189 have already been sent to the Netherlands for identification. The remaining 38 containers were to be sent on Saturday.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17 killing all 298 people on board.
Kiev authorities accuse independence supporters of downing the plane whereas local militia leaders insist they do not have the necessary technology to shoot down a target flying at an altitude of 32,000 feet.
On Monday, the UN Security Council condemned the downing of the passenger plane and unanimously voted in support of a thorough and independent international investigation of the incident.
