MOSCOW, April 4 (RIA Novosti) - Thousands of Afghan refugees living in Pakistan will be excluded from voting in Afghanistan's presidential election on Saturday due to logistics issues, the German Deutsche Welle news agency said Friday, citing the Afghan Election Commission.

The commission said it cannot organize the necessary voting process for Afghans living in refugee camps in Pakistan.

Pakistani authorities could have made the necessary arrangements if Afghanistan had requested, Shah Farman, the information minister of Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Afghanistan, told Deutsche Welle.

There are around 2.6 million Afghans registered as living in Pakistan, according to a report by the United Nations Refugee Agency.

Presidential elections are to be held in Afghanistan on Saturday, with 11 candidates in the race.

President Hamid Karzai is not eligible to run due to term limits.
