MOSCOW, March 27 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine has extradited to Russia a Chechen man suspected of assaulting local residents in the North Caucasus republic, the Prosecutor General's Office said Thursday.
Muhammed Migayev, who was put on an international wanted list in 2008, was detained in Odessa, southern Ukraine, last December. Russian prosecutors sent a request on his extradition in January.
Ukraine agreed on Migayev's extradition earlier this month.
Earlier this week, a notorious ultranationalist, Olexander Muzychko, wanted for war atrocities in Chechnya was gunned down in western Ukraine in a special operation by law enforcement.
Another far-right nationalist leader Dmitry Yarosh was arrested in absentia earlier this month in Ukraine for allegedly imploring a wanted Chechen warlord Doku Umarov to mount attacks against Russia.
Umarov, the self-proclaimed head of a secessionist Islamic radical group in the North Caucasus, has claimed responsibility for several terrorist attacks in Russia and threatened to attack the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
