KIEV, August 17 (RIA Novosti) – The bassist of the Bloodhound Gang band who allegedly urinated on a Ukrainian flag at a show in Kiev last month, apologized for the incident that already got him banned from entering Ukraine for five years.

Jared Hasselhoff also caused public outcry in Russia recently after being filmed cramming a Russian flag down his pants and literally wiping his butt with it at a show in Odessa on July 31. Video of both incidents was uploaded to YouTube.

In the video, he is seen half-naked – but with his pants on – spraying the flag and part of the stage with liquid squirting from his zipper. The audience is heard cheering and applauding his prank.

In an interview televised by the Ukraina channel Friday, Hasselhoff said that he only sprayed ketchup on the flag.

“I don’t understand why Ukrainians get offended for the ketchup I sprayed in front of the flag,” he said. “But if that got them offended, I am apologizing to the Ukrainian people, nation and government.”

Hasselhoff has already been banned from entering Ukraine for five years, while Russia is also considering a five-year ban.

Russian and Ukrainian lawmakers have proposed permanently banning Bloodhound Gang members from entering their countries.

Bloodhound Gang is known for their onstage pranks and provocative songs such as "Kiss Me Where It Smells Funny" and "You're Pretty When I'm Drunk."
