MOSCOW, July 7 (RIA Novosti) - A Boeing-777 plane from Seoul crash-landed and caught fire at the San Francisco International Airport late on Saturday, CNN said citing the Federal Aviation Authority.

The plane, with nearly 300 people on board, was operated by Asiana Airlines. An unnamed airline official told Reuters that 307 people - 291 passengers and 16 crew members - were on board.

Airport officials said at a news conference, broadcast live by US channels, that two people were confirmed dead and one is listed as missing. 181 people were rushed to hospitals, 49 of them with serious wounds. 123 people escaped unharmed.

According to an ABC News report, ten of the injured, two of them children, are in critical condition.

A photograph from the scene posted to Twitter shows what appear to be passengers walking off the plane, some of them carrying their bags.

The plane is lying on its belly, with the tail missing and no landing gear visible. Evacuation slides are seen extending from one side of the aircraft.

A video from KTVU shows that the top of the aircraft is charred and is missing in some parts.
