WASHINGTON, June 4 (RIA Novosti) – Call it a case of early withdrawal. No sooner did the first porn app for Google Glass appear than the Internet search behemoth and maker of the new wearable computer banned such programs, unleashing a wave of lamentation on US specialist and mainstream websites.

“No-Fun Google Bans Porn From Glass” whined trendy tech site BetaBeat. “Google Drops Banhammer on Google Glass Porn Apps” smirked ubergizmo. “Full Frontal Bummer: Google Bans Porn For Google Glass,” complained Gawker.

The new Google Glass product, which is still in the testing phase and won’t even hit the general market until next year, has already sparked controversy on many levels and has triggered calls for the devices to be banned outright, everywhere from casinos in Las Vegas casinos to automobiles in Delaware.

Google has already banned face-recognition technology from Glass and its rush to modify its own guidelines for Glass platform developers coincided with the announcement that the first Google Glass porn app with the commercial brand Tits & Glass was ready for download.

"Our policies make it clear that Glass does not allow Glassware content that contains nudity, graphic sex acts, or sexually explicit material,” CNN quoted a Google spokesperson as saying.

“Any Glassware that violates this policy will be blocked from appearing on Glass."

The CEO of the firm that developed the newly-banned Glass porn app, MiKandi, said the company would “make changes” to the platform to ensure full compliance with Google’s rules. Many US websites, however, questioned how a porn app without the porn would fare.
