US actress Michelle Trachtenberg will play the role of Marina Oswald, the Russian widow of the man accused of killing President John F. Kennedy, in a made-for-television movie to mark the 50th anniversary of the Nov. 22, 1963 assassination, and her dialogue will be entirely in Russian, Us Magazine reported this week.

WASHINGTON, May 31 (RIA Novosti) – US actress Michelle Trachtenberg will play the role of Marina Oswald, the Russian widow of the man accused of killing President John F. Kennedy, in a made-for-television movie to mark the 50th anniversary of the Nov. 22, 1963 assassination, and her dialogue will be entirely in Russian, Us Magazine reported this week.

The TV-movie, called “Killing Kennedy”, will tell the story of Kennedy’s alleged assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, and his young Russian wife, Marina.

Lee Harvey Oswald was charged with shooting and killing Kennedy as the president drove through Dallas, Texas in an open-top vehicle, with first lady Jacqueline Kennedy by his side.

But Oswald’s case never came to court because he was himself shot dead by Jack Ruby two days later as he was being transferred to a secure prison.

Marina Oswald, now 71 and still living in Dallas, has always maintained her late husband’s innocence in the assassination.

Trachtenberg told Us Magazine that she wants to “stay as true to” Marina Oswald as possible in her acting because the widow of Kennedy’s alleged assassin is the only key player in the historic event who is still alive.

The 27-year-old American actress of German and Russian extraction has said in interviews that she is “pretty fluent” in Russian, having spoken the language growing up in Brooklyn with her mother and grandparents. She told Us that she is excited to play a role in which she will speak only in Russian.

Trachtenberg began acting as a child, and appeared in US television soap opera “All My Children” at the age of nine, in the title role of the movie “Harriet the Spy” at 11, and as the character Dawn in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, released in 1997.
