NEW YORK, October 11 (RIA Novosti) - The New York City Wine and Food Festival is being held in the U.S. capital at the weekend, with its motto calling for people to eat more to help the starving, RIA Novosti correspondent reported on Sunday.
More than 100 best cookery experts from all parts of the world show their skills at the festival, expected to be attended by about 25,000 people.
Money, gained from the festival, will be distributed among charity organizations, which help starving people across the globe, including the Food Bank For New York City, which provides some 300,000 low-income New York residents with free food daily.
According to the organization, about 4 million New Yorkers are on the verge of starving.
Degustation tickets worth $500 each were sold long ago.
At the festival, everybody has a chance to taste a hot dog, cooked by best culinary masters, only for $65.
Guests of the feast demonstrate a good appetite, despite the U.S. deepest economic slump in years.
