TEL AVIV, September 22 (RIA Novosti) - Israeli soldiers on Tuesday shot dead a man attempting to ram his car through a checkpoint leading into Jerusalem, the Israeli Army press service said.
According to the report, the 25-year-old Arab Israeli from East Jerusalem refused to stop for a document check, and drove his car into a police checkpoint.
"The soldiers first fired warning shots into the air, followed by shots at the car's tires, and finally at the driver himself when he refused to stop," the report read.
One Israeli soldier was injured in the incident.
