GAZA, July 5 (RIA Novosti) - Five Palestinian militants have been killed and six injured in an air and ground operation carried out by the Israeli army in central Gaza, a local health official said Thursday.
The Israeli raid, involving infantry, armor, and aircraft, is being conducted in a border area, close to the Bureij and Magazi refugee camps.
Dr. Muawi Hasanen, head of the ministry's emergencies department, said three of those killed were members of Azzedine al Qassam, a paramilitary wing of the Hamas movement, while the others belonged to Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, an armed wing of Fatah.
Another six Palestinians were wounded, two of them are in a critical condition.
Four reporters are trapped by Israeli fire in the eastern section of Bureij, all of them are Palestinians, but two work for French and Turkish media.
