KIEV, March 24 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian presidential staff are drawing up contingency plans for a possible dissolution of parliament following next Sunday's elections to the legislature, a senior official said Friday.

Oleg Rybachuk told a news briefing the new parliament may have to be disbanded if it fails to build the majority coalition needed to form the next cabinet.

Yushchenko said previously that he may exercise his constitutional right to dissolve the legislature if it proves unable to form a cabinet within the timeframe.

The Ukrainian constitution says parliament should form a majority within 30 days after election day and a cabinet within 60 days.
