ASTANA, November 12 (RIA Novosti) - The presidential candidates in Kazakhstan will hold debates on Kazakh television for the first time on November 17.
"We have received written consent from four presidential hopefuls to participate in TV debates," Kazakh Central Election Commission chairman Onalsyn Zhumabekov said Saturday.
"Each candidate has the right to refuse to take part in the debates. At least two presidential hopefuls should participate," Zhumabekov said.
The candidates will discuss the economic, social and political spheres. The presidential election in Kazakhstan is scheduled for December 4.
