According to some party members, high-level officials whose names figure in the latest anticorruption probes are "a disgrace to the party's reputation." The names of former Security Council Secretary Petro Poroshenko, former presidential aide Olexander Tretyakov, and former Minister Yevhen Chervnenko were cited in this context.
The congress is to approve the top 10 names on the party's election list. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov is expected to head the list.
