MOSCOW, November 12 (RIA Novosti) - A session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Eurasian Economic Community (Eurasec), to be held November 17 in St. Petersburg, will discuss plans for Eurasec expansion, the Russian State Duma speaker said Saturday. "A session of the Bureau of the Eurasec Interparliamentary Assembly will consider, among other things, prospects for Eurasec development and expansion of its format to take in new members," Boris Gryzlov said. He added that Uzbekistan's admission to the organization would be discussed.

"Eurasec is an integration project designed to bring our states closer together, above all in the economic sphere. We have repeatedly stated that we are open to cooperation and welcome Uzbekistan's intention to join Eurasec," Gryzlov said.
