BISHKEK, July 12 (RIA Novosti, Yulia Orlova) - Acting Kyrgyz president, Prime Minister Kurmanbek Bakiyev, appointed Felix Kulov acting First Deputy Prime Minister Tuesday, the republic's presidential press service said.

Kulov assumed the post he had held in the Kyrgyz government before joining Bakiyev's presidential campaign.

Bakiyev said Monday that in compliance with his memorandum with Kulov, he will submit Kulov's candidacy to the parliament after his inauguration ceremony.

Bakiyev scored a landslide victory at the July 10 presidential election in Kyrgyzstan, winning the majority of the votes.

Kulov was released from prison during the March revolution in Kyrgyzstan. He had been serving a ten-year sentence for financial crimes and other official crimes. The Supreme Court later dismissed all the charges.

Kulov withdrew his candidacy for president before the campaign.
