GROZNY, July 8 (RIA Novosti) - Chechen President Alu Alkhanov said the media played a considerable role in the dissemination of terrorist ideas.
"Certain media in some countries give a voice to the cruelest terrorists, covering their claims, even threats, and thereby promoting their activity," Alkhanov said.
According to the president, "a tougher approach" needs to be taken to this kind of media "flirtation" with terrorists to make sure it does not happen.
"Don't those who offer terrorists an opportunity to be heard understand that all they want is to create havoc in any part of the world through the psychological impact on innocent minds?" Alkhanov said.
Speaking about combating against terrorism in general, the Chechen leader called on the global community to work out a single system to counter terrorists, including a military component.
