KIEV, July 6 (RIA Novosti) - A spokesman for Ukraine's customs service said 7.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas belonging to Gazprom (Russia's natural gas monopoly) was in Ukrainian underground storage facilities.
"All the 7.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas belonging to Gazprom is in Ukrainian underground storage facilities," Taras Shepitko, a spokesman for the Ukrainian central energy customs' gas control and registration department, told a news conference Wednesday.
He denied rumors that it was impossible to take the gas out of storage due to technical reasons. "These rumors do not correspond to reality," the official said.
