Volgograd Linguists Prepare City Guide in Five Languages Ahead of the World Cup

Linguists from Volgograd State University (VolSU) are preparing a booklet in five languages about the most interesting tourist sites in the city for the FIFA 2018 World Cup

According to Vera Mityagina, Doctor of Philology, Head of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation at VolSU, the booklet will be a mini-guide to Volgograd in five languages: Russian, English, Japanese, Arabic and Polish.

Russia will host the FIFA World Cup for the first time in its history from June 14 to July 15. Games of the tournament will be held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Volgograd, and Samara.
