There is fear spreading through Europe of the specter of war, fuelled by aggressive war propaganda by the West in their attempt to demonize Russia. In Germany, for the first time, people do not trust their mass media. All over Europe appearing strange fascist parties. The blind drive by the US in pursuit of their geopolitical objectives in Europe and in Ukraine has placed the entire European continent in an unstable and extremely dangerous position.
Part of the demonization that has allowed the Kiev junta to wage a war against ethnic Russians and the Russian speaking population in Ukraine is a very carefully planned and intense campaign of demonization and dehumanization. Another aspect is the silence and non-coverage in the western media of war crimes and atrocities being committed against innocent civilians. This was no more evident than in Victoria Nuland's recent visit to Odessa at a time when there was a ceremony being held for the victims who died at the House of Unions. While Nuland paid US officials paid respects to those who died on the Maidan she ignored the event and reportedly met with Kolomoisky or his representatives.
How is it that in our age of information technologies, the internet and lightning fast communications that a nazi junta has been allowed not only to come to power but has been allowed to legitimize itself and then engage in a war to (in their own words) clear out half of the country of those who are opposed to them?
Many of the indigenous peoples of North America called the continent “Great Turtle Island.” A part of their advanced philosophy and culture included a complex and extremely developed constitution called the Great Path. The Mohawk were responsible for maintaining the peace and were the guardians of the Great Law which was supposed to bring peace not only to North America but to the entire world. Kahentinetha Horn spoke to John Robles about the history of the Mohawk, American Indian culture and beliefs and current issues of important to the indigenous people of “Great Turtle Island.” Please visit our website in the near future for a continuation of this very revealing interview.
Even intelligence officers at GCQH know Assange was set up, so why is his criminal persecution continuing?
U.S. president Barack Obama has all of a sudden found himself in the middle of three scandals at once. For a president who has skated along doing almost anything he wants since day one, it would seem that there is an unusual political crisis brewing in Washington. It would also appear that Tea Party Republicans are more powerful than the IRS, that finding out who leaked illegality is a reason to cancel freedom of the press, and that no matter how egregious the actions of those in power are, they must be protected at all costs.
On May 10th at 12:44 as many 10,000 Serbs from Kosovo and all over Serbia descended on Republic Square in Belgrade to protest the signing of a treaty with the self-declared independent republic of Kosovo. Amidst the continuing media blackout, which has existed for decades there was little if any news in the world’s media regarding the peaceful demonstration.
As the economic situation worsens in the UK the media and the government are trying to establish a move to the right which is a causing a backlash, but with the marginalization of the left and progressive voices and issues and with the working class without a voice there is little that people can do. In part two of a recent interview with the Voice of Russia, Tim Summers, the former National Campaigns Officer of the Green Party of England and Wales, spoke about these issues and more and expressed deep concern for the safety of Julian Assange.
The UK has been moving to the right politically with the worsening economic situation in the country. The people are feeling the pinch of UK economic austerity measures and cuts in social spending and are looking for a scapegoat. Right wing parties have done what they do best, they have demonized foreigners and minorities and blamed the country’s woes on these vulnerable segments of society, and by providing the people a platform to bash the current government they are thus attractive and quietly able to advance their agenda of racist hate.
US President Obama has continued not only Bush wars and policies, but has continued and expanded the Bush war on whistleblowers, the last hope for many that the truth may prevail. In a sane world if one were to witness a crime or some other clearly egregious or amoral conduct, one would think that one could report it and the guilty would be dealt with, however we do not live in a sane world. For whistleblowers this is the initial dilemma, but due to their consciences or their belief in a higher morality they decide to blow the whistle, almost always knowing that they will suffer for it. Whistleblowers are heroes who risk everything to get the truth out, something which should be rewarded, in a sane world that is.
US controlled NATO dangerously and relentlessly continues its global expansion, "something unparalleled in history and something fraught with, not only danger, but with catastrophe." In order to further hide the fact that the United States is taking over the world militarily through NATO, cleverly designed and marketed "programs" such as the Partnership for Peace, the Mediterranean Dialogue, the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, the Partners Across the Globe and the newly created Aspirant Nation category, are being used to hasten their, for the most part quiet, yet massive expansion.
With the Serbian Government on the verge of signing an agreement that will recognize the independence of Kosovo and in fact expand the influence of and grant legitimacy to Albanian separatists who are in illegal violation of international law in particular with regard to violating the territorial integrity of the sovereign state of Serbia, the Serbian people are angry and protesting the government. Despite their anger they feel hopelessness that their government is not listening. The European Union has dangled the carrot of European integration in front of politicians seeking to improve economic conditions, yet the people want nothing of Europe. John Robles spoke to Jelisaveta Pavlovic about these issues and more.
Serbia is on the verge of recognizing the legitimacy of the illegal breakaway territory of Kosovo and expanding Kosovo’s authority. According to many Serbians and analysts this may lead to the eventual disintegration of Serbia as a sovereign state. Kosovo’s declaration of independence was an illegal act and the support by the West in redefining Serbian borders is a clear act of international aggression. Whether a forced border change in Serbia is carried out by economic pressure from the European Union or by the military aggression of NATO, it is still illegal and contrary to international law.
The latest information that the alleged bombers responsible for the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon were originally from Chechnya is a fact from which many conclusions may be reached. It is also a fact that should not be used as an excuse to demonize a particular group or religion. In this single event the U.S. war on terror has proven that it has failed. Americans are now in more danger than they were before 9-11.
The number of those injured continues to grow and more questions remain in the wake of the multiple blasts which ripped through the crowds of innocent spectators at the Boston Marathon, the Voice of Russia’s Washington correspondent Stephen Schaeber spoke to the VOR’s John Robles amid the aftermath of the terrorist act that has affected people worldwide.
The prestigious Boston marathon became the scene of horror as two explosions ripped through the crowds gathered near the finish line to watch the end of the race. The blast occurred almost at the same time that the winning ceremony was to have taken place. Later another explosion occurred outside of Boston’s JFK library. The Voice of Russia’s Rob Sachs from the Washington bureau spoke to the VOR’s John Robles about the events shortly after they occurred.
The anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks has gone live with another huge release called the Kissinger Cables, which are part of an even greater effort named the WikiLeaks Public Library of US Diplomacy (PlusD). Wikileaks says it is the world's largest searchable collection of United States confidential, or formerly confidential, diplomatic communications and that as of April 8, 2013 it holds 2 million records comprising approximately 1 billion words.
Students from the University of Belgrade and citizens of Serbia are up in arms over a proposed agreement with Pristina over Kosovo which is for all intents and purposes entails the complete and total capitulation of Kosovo and will cement the loss of an area that many Serbs consider to be the heart of Serbia. The embattled Serbian people continue fighting for their very existence something the western press does not report. The EU continues to dangle the carrot of EU integration before the noses of officials but most of the people of Serbia have no desire to be a part of the EU leading to a further conflict inside Serbia.
Julian Assange has repeatedly stated he is willing to answer allegations in Sweden and despite his efforts and those of everyone involved in the case, including the Government of Ecuador, the Swedish authorities have refused to speak to him and have now even gone so far as to engage in an extremely outrageous and unusual smear campaign in Australia. Julian’s run for Senate has politicians in Canberra nervous and at a loss. Sam Castro, the head of the Australian Citizen’s Alliance spoke to the VOR’s John Robles on these issues and more.
