Leading rocket construction enterprises all over the world are starting to develop revolutionary new rocket propulsion systems which burn environmentally cleaner methane rather than the traditional highly pollutant cocktail of hydrogen and kerosene. In Russia, the new Souyz rockets which are planned to replace the current generation of rockets over the next 10-20 years, will need a brand new type of engine which is currently being designed.

On the programme to give us an informed view on all of this is Anatoly Zak, a Russian space expert and journalist based in the US.
