Residents of Sevastopol to take part in referendum on status of Crimea – Deputy

Residents of Sevastopol, which possesses the status of a city of national importance in Ukraine, would participate in the referendum on the status of Crimea scheduled for March 16, Deputy of the Supreme Council of the Autonomy Sergey Shuvaynikov told reporters on Thursday.

"Residents of Sevastopol, which, according to the administrative-territorial division of Ukraine, is not part of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, will participate in the referendum on March 16, to which the question of the region’s annexation to Russia is submitted," he said. "We are giving Sevastopol a chance to express its opinion," the Deputy said after the session of the Crimean Parliament, which adopted the decision on the date of the referendum and the wording of the questions.
