The coming November should see the opening of a wildlife overpass built across a busy motor road in Estonia.

The wide bridge, with a half-meter layer of soil and various vegetation on it, crosses the highway connecting Tallinn and Tartu in a location visited by elks during their annual migrations between their summertime and wintertime feeding grounds.

Dubbed ‘ecoduct’, the overpass links patches of forestland, making it usable for wild animals.
