Moscow is gravely concerned about the information that Syrian militants have chemical agents, Russian president’s spokesman for international cooperation in fighting terrorism Alexander Zmeyovsky said at an international conference in Geneva.

He stressed that the availability of chemical agents, as well as equipment and technology for their production to any openly extremist organisations promotes the expansion of terrorism.

Zmeyovsky said that it was urgent to implement the resolution of the UN Security Council on measures preventing the uncontrolled distribution of Libyan weapons. The resolution was adopted at Russia’s initiative.

The Russian diplomat stressed that one of the principal aims is the settlement of conflicts in which terrorists consolidate their potential.
