Pikachu now in burgers: new anime cafe to open in Tokyo
Japan already has loads of Pikachu- and Pokémon-themed products, like soft drinks, candy, or even curry. But typically, those simply have a Pocket Monster print slapped on the label. The official Pikachu Cafe is something different.
Fans—and even haters— will have the opportunity to munch on treats looking like this yellow monster.
The Pikachu-themed cafe is part of the Pokémon the Movie XY exhibition, which will serve Pikachu food and sell other Pokemon limited edition goods, like postcards, t-shirts and tote bags, kotaku.com reports. But the real gem will be the Pikachu food.
In addition to a teriyaki burger with Pikachu ear-shaped tortilla chips - which costs 1,080 yen (about $10) - the cafe offers Pikachu pancakes, Pikachu curry rice and parfait with a Pikachu head made from mango pudding.
Website Inside Games also has images of a Pikachu curry bun, Pokemon hashed beef stuff with a rice omelet, and a fancy dessert plate with a Pokeball made from framboise and a yogurt mousse.
The Pokémon the Movie XY exhibition will be be running from July 19 to Aug. 31 in Roppongi Hills with tickets priced at 1,500 yen (US$14.80) for adults.
The pop-up cafe will only be around for a limited time, so if you are in Japan, check it out.
