Any extra-judicial decisions, including the compilation of a list of Russian citizens subject to US sanctions under the Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act of 1992, cannot serve as grounds for sanctions against them and will not have any effects for them in Russia, says Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev.

"Our position is extremely clear and extremely obvious and should be fundamentally understood by everyone, primarily those who serve in our system now and who served in it in the past: no extra-judicial decisions, in line with Russian law and the constitution, can serve as acts that entail these or those sanctions in relation to our fellow-countrymen - above all our countrymen and only then our officers, as I said, who are serving or earlier served in our organization," Kolokoltsev said at a meeting with Interior Ministry officials, including former ones, whom the US put on the so-called Magnitsky list.
