Authorities of the Japanese city of Yokohama has by mistake declared in social networks that North Korea carried out a rocket launch, causing panic in the city with a population of 3.7 million people.

Department of Emergency of the Yokohama City Hall has published on his page on the social networking site Twitter (@ yokohama_saigai) a message saying:

"North Korea launched a ballistic missile."

As reported by the Japanese media, this alarm caused panic and confusion among the residents of the city, as other means of emergency notification for the population like TV did not report of the missile launch.

In about 20 minutes the Twitter message was deleted, and apology was issued. The Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun reported that the message on the missile launch was prepared in advance, and one of the members of the Department accidentally put it on the web and declared a false alarm.

Department of Emergency Management has apologized to the residents of Yokohama, and said that in the case of the launch of missiles would be confirmed, it will be announced on TV and on the speaker phones.

Twitter user Akiko Fujita ‏@AkikoFujita wrote on her account page:

“Trigger happy!? #Yokohama falsely tweeted North Korean had launched a missile earlier today @yokohama_saigai, alarming 39,000 plus followers”.
