Russia won't allow homosexual propaganda – Lavrov

Russia has no binding commitment before international community to give the green light to the propaganda of homosexual relationships, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said on the heels of a meeting with his Dutch opposite number, Frans Timmermans.

He pointed out that Russia had its own moral principles, historic, cultural and religious traditions and added it didn’t want to give way to positive discrimination when one group of society is allowed to impose it views – aggressively as often as not – on the majority, especially on children.

Mr. Lavrov said that in its dialogue with EU partners Moscow put stress on much more outrageous examples of discrimination, for instance, of Russian-speaking community in Latvia and Estonia, who are denied citizenship.
