NATO fears DPRK missile launches

The NATO Council at the level of foreign ministers of the 28 member countries has expressed deep concern over the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s planned rocket launch.

According to the ministers, it would be a violation of the international obligations of North Korea and threaten peace and stability in the region.

Last week, the North Korean media reported that the country is going to launch a scientific research satellite into orbit. However, some members of the international community suspect that the space program is a being used as an cover for Korean ballistic missile tests.
