Magnitsky-Browder tax evasion case forged – Hermitage Capital

The London-based hedge fund Hermitage Capital Management has said that the Magnitsky-Browder tax evasion case filed to court Thursday rested on false evidence.

The fund stressed in its official statement that the case was conducted with significant law violations and interest conflicts.

The Prosecutor General’s Office has breached its duty and abused human rights, they said adding that Magnitsky’s post-mortem persecution was an attempt to justify repressions against him and “legitimize” his arrest, torture and murder.

Five days before his death, Sergei Magnitsky announced the evidence against him was forged and vowed to bring those implicate into this forgery before court, the statement said.

Capital Management’s officials pointed out that Bill Browder’s defense attorneys were barred from studying the materials after they demanded a probe into their validity.
