A truce in the Middle East should not calm anyone - Lavrov
Russia has repeatedly told its partners that the sole format of the Middle East "Quartet" is not enough to solve the Palestinian-Israeli problem, Lavrov said.
The "Quartet" should work together with the Arab League, and not just inform the organization about the results of its meetings, the Foreign Minister stressed.
"Russia welcomes the interest of our Bangladeshi friends in cooperation with the SCO and will support it", said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during talks with his Bangladeshi counterpart Dipu Moni.
Lavrov also added, "any accumulation of weapons creates risks, including the risks of provocation".
The statement touches on the possible deployment of the Patriot missile complex on the Syrian-Turkish border.
"In two hours I will have a telephone conversation with the NATO Secretary-General in which we will discuss our concern about the militarization of the Turkish-Syrian border", stated the Russian Foreign Minister. "We will also discuss our concern about the militarization of the Turkish-Syrian border," Lavrov said.
"At the meeting with the Syrian internal opposition in Moscow on November 26, it is important for us to understand how they estimate the prospects for the forthcoming conference on the consolidation of the opposition as a whole," the minister added.
"We highly estimate the level of cooperation with the Russian Federation in the bilateral sphere and in the international arena. Our positions coincide on most of the issues, including the Syrian problem," Bangladeshi counterpart Dipu Moni said.
