Russia sends food aid to North Korea

Russia has sent 670 tons of wheat to North Korea, as part of humanitarian aid provided within the World Food program, an official with the Emergency Ministry said Friday.

North Korea has faced the lack of food products due to bad crops. The decision of the US and several other countries to stop providing humanitarian aid to Pyongyang made the situation worse.

In April US President Barack Obama said that the US would continue its policy of North Korea’s isolation until Pyongyang starts meeting the international commitments.
