North Korea has faced the lack of food products due to bad crops. The decision of the US and several other countries to stop providing humanitarian aid to Pyongyang made the situation worse.

In April US President Barack Obama said that the US would continue its policy of North Korea’s isolation until Pyongyang starts meeting the international commitments.
