The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that about 11,000 hectares of forests in Siberia are on fire. 98 focuses of fire were registered by the early hours of Sunday. The most difficult situation is in Zabaykalsky and other regions of eastern Siberia.

The most difficult situation is in Zabaykalsky and other regions of eastern Siberia.

The fires are caused mainly by people’s inaccuracies or by attempts to burn the remains of the last year’s plants to get fields ready for the new agricultural season.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations says that 87% of forest fires are usually caused by people.
