Syrian army seizes multiple arms depots from rebels

Syria’s government troops have seized large amounts of weapons and ammunition from rebels in the country’s Homs province, according to the SANA news agency. The Army units have specifically found handguns, machineguns of various makes, sniper rifles, anti-tank grenade launchers, mines, night-vision devices, and also stolen or fake passports, military uniforms, PCs and up-to-date communicators.

A week ago, the Syrian army captured the opposition’s main stronghold in the Baba-Amr area in Homs.

Many foreign mercenaries, including Al-Qaeda militants, are said to be fighting on the side of Syrian antigovernment groups.
