Caracas showcases Russian military hardware
Caracas has marked the 20th anniversary of the military coup attempt by army units led by Lieutenant Colonel Hugo Chavez.
On February 4, 1992 after a failed attack on the presidential palace, Chavez was arrested. Two years later he was released under a presidential amnesty.
The parade on Saturday showcased samples of Russian military hardware, currently operational in the Venezuelan army.
These include latest modification T-72 tanks, various anti-aircraft guns, multiple rocket launchers "Grad". Some units were armed with AK-103 assault rifles and anti-aircraft missile complexes "Igla".
