4 Interior Ministry officers die in clash with Chechen militants
Four Interior Ministry officers have died in an ongoing operation to wipe out an illegal armed group in Chechnya.
12 other Interior Ministry troops are reported injured largly due to hitting rebel-planted mines.
The operation to wipe out the 10-strong gang got under way in the mountainous country, in the south of Chechnya, on Sunday.
The criminals put up armed resistance.
The police units are pursuing them and have wiped out three rebel fighters thus far.
The operation will resume with renewed force at dawn on Monday.
